Four initiative citizens appealed against first round results of presidential election

Four citizens of the Republic of Karachaevo-Cherkessia - residents of the settlements Kavkazsky, Mednogorsky, Kardonikskaya and Pregradnaya - appealed to the Supreme Court of the Republic against the results of the first round of the presidential election in Karachaevo-Cherkessia. In their appeal they list a number of violations committed during the election by both presidential contenders. They ask the Court to:

1. declare the results of the first round invalid;

2. declare the edict of the Regional Election Commission on the date of the second round of the presidential election invalid;

3. prohibit the defendants from taking electoral actions.

A similar appeal of initiative citizens in spring of the current year caused the decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Karachaevo-Cherkessia to put off the presidential elections.
