Krasnodar NGO "Southern Wave" is indignant at closure of Fund "School of Peace"

We call your attention to some extracts from the statement by the organization "Southern Wave":

"The Krasnodar Regional Public Organization "Creative Union "Southern Wave" raises deep concern about the decision of the Primorsky District Court of 8 December 2003 on the satisfaction of the claim by the main department of the Russian Ministry of Justice in Krasnodar Territory to liquidate the Novorossiysk Public Fund "School of Peace".

We consider this decision to openly be of political nature. It impudently violates elementary legal regulations."

"School of Peace", which is admittedly in advance in the fight for human rights in the North Caucasus, has turned out to be sentenced to closure by the court of the lower instance."

"Southern Wave" sees human rights protection among the priorities of its activity. We call upon all democratic organizations, upon all honest public figures not to keep their distance and rise in defense of the Novorossiysk Fund "School of Peace"."
