Tersky area

Territory of Northern Caucasus, on the river Terek, belonging to the Tersky Cossack army, since 1806 - an administrative and territorial unit of Russia. An administrative centre - city of Vladikavkaz. In 1921 it was divided into a Gorsky (Mountain) Autonomous Soviet Republic and a Terskaja province.
