Woman-witness confirms statement of "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about the attack at rally

Bariyat Idrisova, a journalist, told the court about provocations during the oppositional rally in Makhachkala and the conflict of defendant Kasumov with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 18, the court began considering the case of the attack on the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to Kasumov's defence, he did not know that the victim Patimat Makhmudova was a journalist, when he broke her video camera. This argument was refuted at the previous sessions by the witness Andrei Melamedov and the victim. Karim Kasumov himself explained his behaviour by Uraza.

According to investigators, on June 12, 2017, the man demanded from the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent to stop filming the rally of Alexei Navalny's supporters in Makhachkala and damaged the journalist's video camera.

Aida Mirmaksumova, who is outside Dagestan, did not participate in the session. She told investigators that "unknown men tried to disperse the people who gathered to the rally, including journalists." According to the journalist's testimony, one of these men "grabbed Makhmudova's video camera and tore off the monitor."
