New charge brought against Robert Kocharyan

Robert Kocharyan, the second president of Armenia, is accused of bribery, his advocate Ayk Alumyan has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Robert Kocharyan was taken into custody on July 27, 2018, on charges of financial crimes, as well as of overthrowing the constitutional order in connection with the dispersal of protest actions in Yerevan in March 2008.

On February 12, the Special Investigating Service (SIS) presented a new charge to the second president of Armenia – this time under point 2, Part 4, Article 311, of the Armenia's Criminal Code (taking a large-scale bribe), the advocate Ayk Alumyan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by telephone.

According to his story, this article provides for imprisonment for seven to twelve years.
