Serzh Sargsyan's case transferred to court

The General Prosecutor's Office of Armenia has approved the indictment in a case on misappropriation of more than a million US dollars, in which Serzh Sargsyan, the third President of Armenia, and four other persons are involved as defendants.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 20, the Investigating Service of Armenia reported on the completion of the investigation into the case on misappropriation of more than a million US dollars, in which former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan was involved as a defendant.

According to the case materials, in 2013, Serzh Sargsyan "together with a group of persons" organized the embezzlement, misappropriation, and theft of about 490 million drams (almost 1.03 million US dollars).

The General Prosecutor's Office has approved the indictment, and today, the case has been transferred to court, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by Arevik Khachatryan, the press secretary for the General Prosecutor's Office of Armenia.

According to Arevik Khachatryan, in addition to Serzh Sargsyan, the case involves four other defendants, including Sergo Karapetyan, the former Armenian Minister of Agriculture, his former deputy Samvel Galstyan, Gevorg Arutyunyan, the former chief of the Plant Cultivation Department, and Barseg Beglaryan, an owner of the "Flash" Company.
