Karabakh MoD claims new evidence proving use of phosphorus weapons by Azerbaijan

The area of forests burned down in Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of shelling attacks by the Azerbaijani troops with incendiary weapons has reached 1815 hectares, the Nagorno-Karabakh Service for Emergencies reports. In turn, the Azerbaijani authorities have accused Nagorno-Karabakh of attacking with similar weapons the forests in the vicinity of the Shusha city.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 30, the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh accused the Azerbaijani armed forces of using phosphorus weapons to set fire to forests.

"The use of the phosphorus weapons against the civilian population is prohibited by the Geneva and International Conventions," the Nagorno-Karabakh Service for Emergencies noted.

"These days, the Armenian armed forces use phosphorus shells to set fire to the forests of Shusha and Topkhana," stated in response Khikmet Gadjiev, the head of the foreign policy department of the Azerbaijani presidential administration, as quoted by the "Sputnik Azerbaijan".
