Opposition ends protests in Yerevan

The Armenian opposition has announced the end of today's protests in Yerevan, and reproached authorities of attempts to stage provocations. The Armenian police have reported that not a single person was detained during the protest marches held in Yerevan today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Armenian opposition is holding daily protests in Yerevan, demanding the resignation of the Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan. Today, activists resumed marches, during one of which a clash broke out of demonstrators with law enforcers.

Opponents of the Armenian authorities began their protests on April 25, after Nikol Pashinyan announced his readiness to "lower the bar" on the status of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Ishkhan Sagatelyan, the Vice Speaker of the Armenian Parliament from the "Aiyastan" bloc, has noted that "during protests, authorities make use of provocateurs."

Let us remind you that on May 18, during the protests in Yerevan, the police detained 364 people, and the day before – a total of 414 activists.
