Scientists from 25 countries are taking part in International Congress on Studying of Armenia

More than 200 scientists studying Armenia from 25 countries arrived in Yerevan to the International Congress on Studying of Armenia, which is taking place on September 15-20. The Congress is arranged by the Nation Academy of Sciences of Armenia jointly with the Yerevan State University, with Catholicos of all Armenians Garegin II and Armenia President Robert Kocharian providing their support.

The blockade of Armenia, Armenian-Turkish relations, the Armenian genocide are among those questions that are being discussed within the limits of the Congress. Besides, issues of the church and studying of Armenia, Armenian language orthography, language purity, culture, and history are being considered. Some reports are devoted to the present situation in the field of studying of Armenia and outlooks of its development.
