The Burdjanadze - Democrats opposition bloc led by Parliament Speaker Nino Burdjanadze said they would not recognize the results of the parliament election of November 2 and would abstain from working in the new parliament.

Supporters of the Revival Union, led by Ajarian leader Aslan Abashidze, are gathered today in the Philharmonic Hall in the center of Tbilisi to celebrate the success in the November 2 parliamentary elections.

"Despite considerable pre-electoral assistance from the Council of Europe and OSCE, the elections held in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia in 2003 did not meet international standards due to an apparent lack of political will in these countries," stated CoE/OSCE meeting participants.
